Abigail began learning the piano at the age of 6 under Ms. Shuk Han Yu, and the violin sib after under Ms. Emily Hau. She has had various experiences accompanying for her church’s choir and worship team, as well as composing, producing and recording original music.
Abigail is excited about helping students find satisfaction in learning and creating music. She believes that music can enrich the lives of budding musicians when they experience music in a fun and engaging way, without lacking the equal importance of discipline and diligence.
Karen Wong received her Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from the University of Toronto. She was the recipient of the Ann D. Sutton scholarship award in 2019. She is currently studying for her Master of music in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from the University of Toronto under Dr. James Parker and Dr. Midori Koga. Karen received her ARCT Diploma with First Class Honor in 2016 under the tutelage of the highly respected pedagogue Aster Lai. She was the recipient of multiple top awards from competitions, include the Asian Pacific Piano Competition and Toronto Kiwanis Music Festival.
Following her passion in music, Karen has thoroughly enjoyed teaching music in private and group setting over the past years. She believes that students learn best when they enjoy what they do, and her goal is to share with them the music charm as well as develop creative power and individuality in their musical journeys.
Outside of her piano studies, she also enjoyed her time being in choir as both accompanist and choir members such as being assistant for choir faculty at the Interprovincial Music Camp.
