Herman Chen
French Horn, Trumpet

Herman Chen is regarded as a French Horn Player of the highest proficiency in China. He graduated from Xinghai Conservatory of Music in 1980 with a Bachelor of Arts degree, and was appointed as Principal Horn in the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra.

Since 2006, Herman has been playing for the Etobicoke Philharmonic Orchestra as a French Horn guest performer. He also provides lessons in French horn and trumpet, and his students frequently receive First Class Honours in Royal Conservatory of Music examinations.

Joe began studying violin in 1970 and trumpet in 1972, following with piano lessons. He has a wide range of experiences in performing classical, jazz, rock, folk and various other musical styles, and as a composer and arranger. Joe was also involved in the musical products industry as a luthier, instrument technician and consultant for thirty years. Currently he teaches violin, brass and woodwind instruments in various styles, and prepares students for Royal Conservatory exams, university entrance (violin, trumpet) and auditions.
