Lydia developed a strong passion for music at a young age and decided to pursue study and a career in music. She graduated from the McMaster University with an Honours Bachelor of Music Degree at First Class standing, majoring in History and Theory. She received numerous scholarships for her academic excellence in those years.
Lydia started accompanying the church choir at the age of 14. She has been actively participating in church as a choir member, choir accompanist, congregation pianist and choir conductor. She was once a high school music teacher. With the love of working with children and the eagerness to explore further in the art of music, Lydia began to develop her profession as a piano teacher.
Lydia is a member of the Ontario Registered Music Teachers’ Association and the Ontario Music Educators’ Association. She loves to sing, and this passion for singing has kept her an active participant at the Alata Harmonia Chorus since its first concert in 2002.
