Biographical Info

From the young age of 4, Jasleen has studied in various music schools under the education discipline of the Alexander Technique. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Music, specializing in Vocal Performance, from the University of Waterloo. With the help of private instruction from Stephanie Kramer, Jasleen developed her own sound and tonality with the best tools and techniques to keep perfecting her voice for the future.

Jasleen was a member of the New York Choral Society under the direction of John Daly Goodwin, and also a member of the New York City Master Chorale headed by Dr. Thea Kano. She has performed at Carnegie Hall and The Metropolitan Lincoln Centre. Jasleen has also worked with opera veterans Bryn Terfel, Susan Graham, Renee Fleming and vocalists from the New York City Opera. Aside from the classical world, she also has passion for musical theatre and completed various stage works while living in New York City.

Even though she is classically trained, Jasleen enjoys singing and teaching a wide variety of styles and genres, including contemporary, pop/rock, musical theatre, country, and R&B.

Jasleen’s teaching approach emphasizes the 3 P’s: Practice, Patience, Perseverance. Reaching a student’s goal requires team effort. She also loves a fun atmosphere that helps motivate the students to do well and always remember the 3 P’s!! In her lessons, she implemenents basic rudiments to help the course of voice studies, such as ear training, scales, proper intonation and basic sight reading skills. As well as proper breathing techniques, she teaches performance and stage presence, voice projection, maintenance and control.
